Hi, I'm Hull History Nerd, and I make videos and content related to the history of the city of Kingston-upon-Hull and the surrounding area. I've been in love with abandoned railways since I was a teenager and discovered the Hull and Barnsley Railway remains in the Wolds, and this led to a fascination with how these lines fitted together with the wider history of industrialisation, the process that shaped our modern world and, in many cases, transformed the way of life for almost everyone in the country. In my videos, I seek to inform and discuss this wider history, hanging it on the back of a topic like railways, or docks. Hopefully you'll come away from watching them having learned something you might not have known before about things you pass by in the street without even thinking!
